*Top Hitter of the Day*
- Christian Koss, 3B – Grand Junction Rockies – Colorado Rockies – – 3-3, HR (2), 2B, R, RBi, SB (3) – – Koss has been a one-man wrecking crew over his last six games. The 2019 – twelfth rounder out of UC Irvine collected three hits in his first pro game before going on a mini-slump to start July. He batted 1-12 (.083) July 1 through July 4, but has since registered six consecutive multi-hit games, batting .619 (13-21) in that span and has two home runs in his last two games.

- Samuel Huff, DH – Down East Wood Ducks – Texas Rangers – – 1-3, HR (8/23), R, RBi, BB, K – – Huff just keeps on rolling, blasting his eighth homer for Down East, and 23rd on the season, However, if the Rangers seventh round pick in 2016 out of Arcadia HS (Phoenix) continues his current home run pace in conjunction with his performance impact at the Futures Game, he could find himself in the Minor League Player of the Year discussion at season’s end.

I think depending on how far the Twins are willing to reach to obtain help for the stretch run, Larnach, Minnesota’s number one draft pick in 2018 out of Oregon State, could be a priority target. Rightfully so, as the 6’4″- 220 lb. lefty has logged a .310/.377/.458/.835 slash line with a Florida State League leading 26 doubles, 142 total bases and a .310 batting average. It’s guys like Larnach that make guys like Jim and me save our National League-only league waiver money.
