Cardenas, Cleveland’s sixteenth round draft choice last year out of Cal State Fullerton (CA) is currently riding a 23 game on-base streak, and the unranked prospect ranks third in the MWL with 108 total bases behind teammate Will Benson (123) and Milwaukee catcher David Fry (114).

The now 20-year-old (- today is his birthday -) has posted three consecutive multi-hit performances after suffering a 2-27 slump (.074) in his previous 10 games. Alexander got the Cougars on the board with a solo shot over the left field wall in the top of the second.  He struck out swinging in his next at-bat in the fourth, then scored on an Eddie Hernandez triple in the fifth after reaching base via a hit-by-pitch.
