*Top Hitter of the Day*
- KJ Harrison, 1B – Potomac Nationals – Washington Nationals –– 3-5, HR (2), 2B, R, 4RBi, K – – It’s the intrigue of guys like Harrison that keep us going each day. Along with infielder Gilbert Lara, Harrison was a part of the late-August 2018 trade with the Nationals that sent veteran starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez to Milwaukee. What Washington got was a career .253 hitter with who averaged 42 RBi, 42 runs scored and a 3.26 K:BB ratio over his first two seasons (with Rookie Helena and LoA Wisconsin). Harrison began 2019 back in LoA with Hagerstown and it’s like a switch went off. In his first 16 games of the season he batted .404 with 11 runs scored, 16 RBi and 10 of his 23 hits went for extra bases. The organization promoted the 6’0″- 205 lb. Hawaii native to HiA Potomac April 26 and he’s barely slowed down, as he’s batted .381 with 15 runs scored and 14 runs batted in. When you add it all up, you get a guy who ranks third in all the minors in hitting (.392), and sits among the overall leaders in hits (47), and OPS (1.051). Now, I’m not saying to rush out, grab Harrison and add him to your deep, dynasty league roster. But, he’s certainly someone to keep a peripheral eye on now that he’s been overly successful in a new organization thus far.
