      • – Hitting for the cycle is rare, but four home runs in a game is historic. On the night that Toronto prospect Ryan Gold hits for the cycle, the Indians #25 prospect goes ahead and hits four home runs in his first four plate appearances, highlighted by a grand slam in the fourth inning. Benson’s career night rocketed him into the Midwest League lead in homers (6), runs scored (14) and now sits in a MWL tie with Miami’s Jerar Encarnacion in total bases (38) and RBi (16). 

California League:

      • – There have been only two games this season where the Havana, Cuba native has gone either hitless or collected only one hit. Robert went 0-for-3 on April 9 at Wilmington (KC) and this past Wednesday, this time at home against Wilmington, he had a single and stole his sixth stolen base on the year. Aside from these two games, Robert has registered either two or three hits per game. Promote this kid already. 

Florida State League:

      • Rodriguez’ two hits and first home run on the season come off an o-for-10 skid in his previous three games.

Midwest League: 

  • Mariel Bautista, RF – Dayton Dragons – Cincinnati Reds –

      • – The Reds #19 prospect knocked his third home run on the season and has two three-hit performances over his last three games.  
  • Ryan Gold, DH – Lansing Lugnuts – Toronto Blue Jays – 
      • – 4-5, HR (1), 3B, 2B, 3R, 7RBi – 
        • – The Blue Jays unranked prospect hit for the cycle, helping Lansing to a 12-4  victory over Dayton. Gold started off with a single in first, then laced a two-run triple to center, scoring catcher Alejandro Kirk and shortstop Otto Lopez. Gold scored on a single by second baseman Nick Podkul. Gold grounded out in the fourth, but blew the game open with a two-out grand slam in the sixth, scoring DJ Neal, leadoff hitter Reggie Pruitt and Otto Lopez. The 2016 – 27th round draft pick out of Carolina Forest HS (SC) ended his night with a one-out double in the eighth, then scored on a two-out walk to Mc Gregory Contreras after a third baseman Johnny Aiello strike out.
