Taken in the 27th round from the PSAC’s Seton Hill, just down route 22 from me in Greensburg (PA), the Ohio native posted a 1.32 FIP, which was the best by any pitcher at any level of baseball in his pro debut last season in the GCL. At Seton Hill, the 6′ 0″ 185 lb right-hander set school records with the season best 109 strikeouts in 75.1 innings and the best career 2.43 ERA mark. Not a flashy type at all, DellaValle carries a 88-92 mph fastball and average potential offspeed stuff, but throws all with excellent command.
