- The 2nd round pick from 2017 snaps a 6 game losing streak and tied his career-high 10 strikeouts last night against Hagerstown (Nationals). The last six game stretch for the 6’3″ 205 lb right-hander is best left behind, as he posted a 8.76 ERA along with a frightening 63% flyball rate that luckily only surrendered one home run. Howard can strike-em out (12.0 per nine in 87 career innings, but needs to do a better job holding runners on-base (.306 BA this season) which accounts for his 5.06 ERA. Howard was the Phillies UTR Top ranked (#18) Pitcher for April 2018.
- Saucedo was been solid over his last seven starts. The 21st round selection in 2015 has posted a 3-2 record, 2.72 ERA and a .213 opponent batting average. He’s only once allowed more than 2 earned runs (3 ER on May 20th) over that time and only twice going back to the beginning of May. This is Saucedo’s third UTR mention this season after only getting one nod during each of the last two seasons.
- The lefty is trying to work his way back to HiA Jupiter after being sidelined with an injury. The 21st round pick in 2016 was assigned to HiA to start 2018 after only two seasons of rookie ball. Some more seasoning at Greensboro should be in the cards after posting a 5.65 ERA and 1.674 WHIP in HiA 11 starts.
