  • Davis came to the Pirates with a scouting report of a good athlete with a good glove and an average outfield arm, but he possesses average to plus power and above average speed. So far the 2018 – 15th rounder out of the University of California (CAL) is showing off that plus power as the APPY League leader in SLG% (1.083), OPS (1.563) and among the APPY leaders in home runs (3), runs scored (9) and total bases (26). In fact, the league leader in several offensive categories is Bristol teammate and Pirates #18 (BA) and #25 (Pipeline) prospect Mason Martin, the Pirates 2017 – 17th rounder out of Southridge, Kennewick HS (WA) seen below.

  • Despite batting a rank .195 on the season, the 23-year-old righty is 12 for his last 28 (.429) over his last eight games, including 15 RBi’s and eight runs scored. The former Oregon State Beaver, drafted in the 23rd round in 2016, has hit all of his homers on the season in this same span.
