National League – Top Hitter of the Day: 

• Ryan Grotjohn, LF – LoA Kane County Cougars (ARI) – Midwest League
  • 4-5, HR (1/2), 2B, 4R, 3RBi
  • The 6’2″ – 175 lb. lefty has a hit in 11 out of his last 12 games. The 2017 – 10th rounder has also registered at least two hits in four out of his last five, yet didn’t have a multi-hit game until June 15 versus Wisconsin, where he went 3-4 with a triple and two doubles. Again, we aim to highlight top daily perfomers, but I’ll temper enthusiasm, as the former CSB Roadrunner is 23 and has seen action in three levels this season starting with AA Jackson, then HiA Visalia and now LoA Kane County. Baseball can be unpredictable, however, what Grotjohn can do for the Diamondbacks may not be as important as what he’s helped do for the up-and-coming Cal State Bakersfield baseball program seen here.
