- Three times during the young Dominican’s career, once in the GCL and twice at LoA West Virginia, Nunez threw four innings without allowing a hit. Yesterday, the 6’8″ 230 lb lefty went twice as long, which was his longest career outing and again didn’t allow a hit. It was also the first no-hitter thrown by a Marauder pitcher in the history of the program. Nunez has been rolling of late, posting a 0.47 ERA and winning two games over his last three starts.
- Nelson struggled with command during his last start (3 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 4 BB, 4 K), but had it clicking last night. The 4th round pick in 2016 had his best start since receiving a promotion to Tampa in early May.
- My 2017 “One to Watch” and UTR Organizational All-Star (relief) makes his first HiA start.
