- Gavin is in his first full season and made the longest outing of career yesterday, throwing seven no-hit innings. The 8th round pick in 2017 has only allowed more than 2 earned runs once (4 ER on June 2nd) in 13 starts. He also tied his career-high with 9 strikeouts. Gavin is 4th in the SAL amongst qualified pitchers in ERA and 2nd with a 0.89 WHIP.
- Whitlock had an outstanding bounce back outing by tossing seven shutout innings and a career-high 11 K’s. In his last start, the 18th round pick by the Yankees in 2017 surrendered 4 earned runs ( 9 hits) over 4.1 innings. Prior to that outing, Whitlock posted a 1.07 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 58.2 innings and a nice 55% groundball rate, over two levels.
