National League – Top Hitter of the Day:
- Ibandel Isabel, DH – HiA Daytona Tortugas (CIN) – Florida State League3-4, 2 HR (13,14), 2R, 4RBi
-
- Although Kansas City Royals prospect Seuly Matias (who you’ll see below) leads all the minors in home runs with 19, fellow Dominican Isabel is coming on like gangbusters. The 6’4″ – 220 lb. righty belted his 13th and 14th home run last night versus Palm Beach, and this 2-homer game was his third multi-home run game in his last nine, as Isabel has blasted 9 home runs in his his last nine games. In what’s considered a pitcher’s league, Isabel is batting .266 in the FSL and 58 percent of his hits have gone for extra bases. He hasn’t been too bad with the glove either, committing only three errors in 226 chances at first base this season (.987).

American League:
- Kirvin Moesquit, 2B – LoA Delmarva Shorebirds (BAL) – Sally League2-3, 3R, BB, SB (29)
-
- The 2015 – 24th round pick out of Seminole State College (FL) stole his 29th base last night versus Hagerstown (WAS) and now sits five behind minor league leader Myles Straw (AA – Corpus Christi – HOU). Although you can’t ignore what Moesquit is doing this year, he’s a 23-year-old in LoA, which is fine, but in a minors-heavy fantasy league, I’d push my chip stack toward Straw, a fellow 2015 draft pick, but 12 rounds earlier. Straw came from St. Johns River Community College (FL) and rewarded the organization by leading the minors with a .358 batting average in 2016 (over two levels: LoA Quad Cities and HiA Lancaster) and 21 stolen bases. Houston possesses one of the deepest, most rich farm systems in all of baseball and Straw has the tools to become a viable role player or much, much more.

- Vidal Brujan, 2B – LoA Bowling Green Hot Rods (TB) – Midwest League3-4, HR (3), 2R, RBi, 2BB, 2 SB (24,25)
-
- There might not be a Rays prospect who’s stock is soaring as high this season as Brujan’s. Coming into the season, the 5’9″ – 155 lb. switch-hitter was ranked #17 over at Baseball America, while MLB Pipeline’s Jonathn Mayo and Jim Callis clocked the young Dominican in at #18. If the season ended today, it’d be shocking to see Brujan sit outside any and every Ray’s top 10. He helped lead Short Season Hudson Valley to a New York-Penn League title in 2016, leading the NYPL with 74 hits, 108 total bases, while stealing 16 bases and posting a near 1:1 BB:K ratio (34:36). Brujan is on pace to collect 162 hits, steal 71 base and post another remarkable BB:K ratio this season, as he currently sits with a 29:28 and a near .400 on-base percentage (.394).
