He’s back to throwing scoreless frames with 5.2 innings last night and logging his third outing with double-digit strikeouts. My 2016 “One to Watch” for the Marlins was on his way to obtaining a 2016 UTR Organizational All-Star slot, but that was put on hold after he suffered an elbow injury that required TJ surgery shortly after the trade to San Diego. He missed the 2017 season but you would never know it, with his 61 K’s in 37.1 innings (14.7 K/9), only 27 hits (6.5 H/9), and just two walks (30.5 K/BB). The Top Prospect (#21 for SD) “Minors” Pitcher for May 2018 is a must add stash to your fantasy roster.
- The 22nd round pick in 2017 made his longest start and set a career-high in strikeouts. The 6’3″ 200 lb right-hander made his pro debut with short-season Vermont in 2017. He made 15 appearances (4 starts) and recorded a 6.12 ERA which was inflated mainly due to control issues that tallied 23 walks in 25 innings.
