- Some really low draft picks, of late, are starting to get into their grooves. Fagalde begins today as a 30th round choice from 2017 and picks up his second mention in as many weeks. The 6’3″ 225 lb right-hander is getting the opportunity to start after making only one during his debut season over two levels in 14 appearances. Through his last three outings, Fagalde has only allowed two earn runs in 19.2 innings of work. Yesterday he struck out a career-high 10 batters to tally 25 K’s over those three starts.
- The 2017 UTR Organizational All-Star has his longest outing since mid-June 2017. The 15th round pick in 2016 had a strong 2017 until getting derailed with an injury and rehabbing in the GCL to close out 2017. This built upon his outstanding debut in 2016 with Appy League Elizabethton (5-2 with 3.23 ERA in 10 starts) and was my Twins choice for the 2017 “One to Watch”. Wells was also the Twins Top UTR “Minors” American League Pitcher for April 2018
