- We haven’t heard from Webb since early May 2017 during his debut with LoA Wisconsin. As a 3rd round pick in 2016, at first look, the lack of mentions could have been an due to the adjustment to LoA. But the 6′ 2″ – 195 lb right-hander had a decent year despite such an aggressive assignment. Webb continues his climb in HiA Carolina and got off to a rough start, but last night was his longest outing of the season, with his nine strikeouts setting a career-high. Webb has struggled somewhat with his control issuing 10 walks over his last 16.2 innings, but he’s also allowed only one earned run with 22 strikeouts in that same innings span.
- Rodriguez was building a top prospect resume with the Los Angeles Angels for three seasons. He was a 2016 UTR Organizational All-Star and was my pre-season 2017 “One to Watch” pick. He would once again become a UTR-OAS in 2017, but was removed from the rankings after being dealt to the Tigers during the hot stove season. Rodriguez threw a gem last night and marked a career-high with 12 strikeouts. He’s been rolling over his last three starts, as he’s allowed only two earned and struck out 27 batters over his last 18.1 innings.
