April 30, 2018 – Under the Radar Pitcher Performances

With the California League only seeing action last night, here are the UTR top performances overall.

TOP UTR PITCHING PERFORMANCE

RHP Chris Paddack (LoA Lake Elsinore – San Diego) 22 year old
6 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K, 0.00 ERA, Win 1-0
  • Paddack gets back on the mound after missing two years recovering from Tommy John surgery. Paddack mentions were all over this site in 2016 when he was in the Miami Marlins organization. He was my choice for the Marlins 2016 “One to Watch” and was lights out over six starts with LoA Greensboro. He posted a 0.95 ERA with 48 strikeouts and only two walks in 28.1 innings. The Marlins were in the position for a possible divisional run or wild card spot at least, so they traded Paddack for Fernando Rodney to bolster their bullpen. The Padres were the beneficiaries of the deal and the 8th round high school pick (2015) continued on his roll at LoA Fort Wayne, until the elbow injury struck him down. Paddack’s absence no doubt left him “way” under the radar, so I would strongly recommend him as a “Solid Stash”.

Top UTR Relief Performance

RHP Tyler Stevens (HiA Inland Empire – LA Angels) 22 years old
2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, 3.00 ERA
