**On February 21st, Whitley was slapped with a 50-game suspension for violating the minor league drug policy. This is a major developmental set-back for the Astro’s top pitching prospect, though he should remain in that position. With this news and not to take away what Whitely did in 2017, added the next man up below. It would have been another top prospect, in Franklin Perez who a had a strong first half of the season, but he was traded to the Tigers in the Justin Verlander deal.
