National League – Top Hitter of the Day
- Austin Allen, DH – HiA Lake Elsinore Storm (SD) – Cal League/South
- 4-6, 2 HR (17,18), 3R, 6RBi, 2K
- As you’ll see below, Allen was a part of a hit parade that the Storm laid down upon cross division rival Visalia. Only two players in the Storm lineup last night went hitless, while the remaining seven sluggers collected two or more hits. The 6’4″- 225 lb. lefty Allen not only led the way last night, but also leads the entire Cal League in hits (100), home runs, doubles (23), RBi (60), total bases (173); and ranks second in OPS (.868) only to teammate, left fielder Rod Boykin (1.001). As I’ve done in the past when a team loads up the scoreboard, instead of individually listing the remaining six hitters in the Storm lineup, I’ll post a link to the box score here. Pretty impressive stuff even for California League standards.
