- We haven’t heard from Soto since his POD mention on May 20th, but the Tigers system has been roaring, as Soto makes it their 17th POD this season. Soto was also the a Top UTR Pitcher for April 2017 and a 2016 UTR Organizational All- Star.
- Since being promoted to HiA in late June, this is Duplantier’s first POD while at Visalia. He did miss one week when he was placed on the temporary inactive list. The 6’4″ 225 lb righty continues to roll though, posting a 2-0 record with 1.84 ERA at the next level. He was the Diamondbacks Top UTR Pitching Prospect for April and May. He’s also one of the very few that have made two appearances on the UTR Two Start Treasure feature (May 2-8 and May 23-29)
- Starter mentions have been too few this season in the AZL. So when Tavarez K’s 7 of the first 9 he faced, why not let him come-in for one more inning.
