    • Fernandez, a 2016 – 10th rounder out of the University of California-Riverside, has been on fire lately. He began the year with an April where he batted .279 (24-for-86) with three doubles and five stolen bases. Apparently the first month was just a warmup for the 6’3″- 210 lb. lefty. Since the calendar turned to May, Fernandez is batting .542 (13-24) including four three-hit performances in his last five games. On a roster that houses Colton Welker (Baseball America #16), Tyler Nevin (BA #20) and Manuel Melendez (BA #29), the unranked Fernandez (coming into 2017) leads the Tourists in hits (37), runs scored (22), homers (5), stolen bases (10), total bases (60) and the full slash line (.336/.545/.383/.929).
