  • Isan Diaz, 2B – HiA Carolina Mudcats (MIL) – Carolina League/Southern

In fact, the 2014- 1st rounder out of Springfield, MA (2014) has gone hitless in only six of his 25 games this season. Diaz also ranks fourth in the Carolina League in hits (29) and total bases (50).

    • I don’t think it will be long before readers no longer see Mountcastle, a 2016 UTR OAS choice, gracing the HOD posts. The 20-year-old righty out of Hagerty HS (FL) currently leads the Carolina League with 34 hits, 59 total bases and ranks within the league top five in runs scored (19) and slugging percentage (.590). Twenty-three year old Erick Salcedo is holding his own for Double-A Bowie, batting .314 with three home runs, 11 RBi’s and 11 runs scored. But I’d be hard pressed to think the organization wouldn’t give Mountcastle, a 2015 1st rounder, the lions share of at-bats upon a promotion, especially after the start to the season he’s had.
  • Ademar Rifaela, RF – HiA Frederick Keys (BAL) – Carolina League/Northern
    • 2-3, HR (2), R, 2RBi, BB
  • Chris Gittens, 1B – HiA Tampa Yankees (NYY) – Florida State League/North

    • 1-4, HR (4), R, 3RBi, K
  • Lane Thomas, CF – HiA Dunedin Blue Jays (TOR) – Florida State League/North
    • 1-4, HR (3), R, 3RBi, 2K
  • Bo Bichette, SS – LoA Lansing Lugnuts (TOR) – Midwest League/Eastern
  • Joel Booker, CF – LoA Kannapolis Intimidators (CWS) – Sally League/Northern
    • 3-5, 3B, 2 2B, 2R, RBi
  • Micker Adolfo, RF – LoA Kannapolis Intimidators (CWS) – Sally League/Northern
    • 2-4, HR (1), 2R, 5RBi, BB
  • Brandon Dulin, 1B – LoA Kannapolis Intimidators (CWS) – Sally League/Northern
    • 1-4, HR (3), R, 3RBi
  • Elier Hernandez, RF – HiA Wilmington Blue Rocks (KC) – Carolina League/Northern
    • 3-4, 2 3B, 2B, R, 2RBi
  • Khalil Lee, RF – LoA Lexington Legends (KC) – Sally League/Southern
    • 2-4, HR (5), R, RBi, BB, K
  • Chris DeVito, 1B – LoA Lexington Legends (KC) – Sally League/Southern
    • 2-4, HR (9), 2B, 2R, 3RBi
    • The near (pre-season) universally un-ranked lefty heading into the 2017 season continued his assault on Sally League pitching Tuesday night. DeVito belted his league-leading 9th home run off of struggling Greensboro pitcher Dylan Lee (0-3, 5.87 ERA) and built his total-bases (67) and slugging percentage (.670) lead over second place holder, Delmava’s Jake Ring (53/.646). DeVito was originally drafted as a catcher, and some likened him to Chicago’s (AL) Zack Collins, but soon after DeVito was drafted, the organization shifted him over to first base with the plan (in mind) that he’d need to hit, and hit well to ascent through the minors. I believe that so far this season, he’s proven that he’s up for that task, as he’s now hit as many home runs this season (in 25 games) that he hit in all of 2016 (60 games) with Appy League Burlington.

    • 3-3, R, BB, 3 SB (3)
  • Aaron Whitefield, CF – LoA Cedar Rapids Kernels (MIN) – Midwest League/Western
