First of all, I want to thank everyone for checking in with us everyday since the beginning of the minor league regular season back in early April.
Jim and I have offered up the best pitching and hitting lines each day since the start of the season, and it’s that time of year where we close the books on another in-season and begin our off-season work. If you haven’t noticed, Jim’s last Pitcher Performance post was last Monday while my final Top Hitters of the Day post was yesterday.
Despite the minor league regular season ending in early September, the few weeks we choose to take off helps us prepare our off-season spreadsheets and fine-tune any new metrics we’ve worked on throughout the regular season. Jim has already begun his off-season work while I’ve created a new spreadsheet which will help streamline both individual team and league information. I plan to test out the new versions hoping everything goes smoothly before I start plugging in final season team and individual hitter stats.
I’m confident that despite this year being a bit of an off-year for UTR hitters, I’ll find my fair share of UTR darlings. In fact, just based off my daily THOD posts, both Short Season leagues (NYPL and NW) as well as the Rookie leagues (APPY and PIO) will boast a bevy of young hitters most deep dynasty leaguers will want to grab in their pre-season rookie drafts.
So, with that said, look for our Organizational All-Star posting schedule. As in year’s past, we begin in October and conclude this popular off-season series in March, which is right on the heels of most fantasy drafts. As we draw closer, Jim and I will post a more detailed schedule informing readers which league, divisions and teams we will be posting and when. As well as the OAS series, keep an eye out for our “Ones to Watch” post which is a list of kids Jim and I feel could have a breakout season in 2017.
Thank you all once again for following us all season long. We couldn’t do what we do without you. And stay tuned for our off-season Organizational All-Star series.
Marc
