July 30, 2016 – “Lefty” UTR Pitcher Performances / Trade Tracker

UTR Trade Tracker – The MLB trade deadline is tomorrow August 1st, so lets begin a list of UTR Pitchers that have been included in deals.
Vicente Campos  – New York Yankees to Arizona (Tyler Clippard deal)
Campos hit my radar way back in 2011 during his time with the Everett Aquasox when he was with Seattle. At that time, he was known as Jose Campos. He was traded to the Yankees in 2012 where I had the righthander penciled-in as a possible breakout candidate. He missed the 2014 season and a go0d chunk of 2015 before appearing on my list again, when he started 2016 with HiA Tampa. He was sent to Double-A Trenton in early June and was just promoted to Triple-A Wilkes-Barre Scranton prior to the trade.
J.P. Feyereisen and Ben Heller – Cleveland to New York Yankees (Andrew Miller deal)
Feyereisen and Heller were both UTR-Organizational All-Stars in 2015, with Heller also being honored in 2014. Before the trade, Heller (22nd Rd – 2013) was with Triple-A Columbus, while Feyereisen (16th Rd – 2014) was at Double-A Akron.
Luis Castillo  – Miami to San Diego (Andrew Cashner deal)
A 2015 UTR-Organizational All-Star, Castillo was breaking out with HiA Jupiter and is back again with Chris Paddack, who was traded back on June 20th. Castillo was the UTR Top Pitcher for April and was always in the mix against Paddack since. The Padres assigned Castillo to Double-A San Antonio.
Hansel Rodriguez  – Toronto to San Diego (Melvin Upton Jr. deal)
The Padres are stockpiling arms in adding three UTR’s over the last two weeks. Rodriguez was “Just Off the Scope” during my preseason previews and remains there, as the Padres assigned him to the Northwest League Tri-City Dust Devils.
Southpaws dominated the mentions today, as they grabbed 6 of the 10 spots. Pioneer/Northwest League All-Star game will be played on Tuesday night August 2nd and I have begun to breakdown the rosters for both squads. Here’s the Pioneer League, with Northwest League to be posted shortly.
