July 23, 2016 – Under the Radar Pitcher Performances

Pitchers have been main focus the last few days, as Marc’s hitters are sitting on the pine while he’s on vacation. To fill the gap, I have posted my Report Cards for the pitchers that I selected during the preseason as “Ones To Watch” for the National and American Leagues. Its probably the best crop that I have assembled since we started predicting breakouts many years ago. It should be fun to watch them progress the rest of way and to see where they fall within my Under the Radar Organizational All-Star lists which will be posted throughout the off-season, right to Spring Training.

TOP NL UTR PITCHING PERFORMANCE
I had Weigel pegged just off the UTR radar scope before the season started. Now that my Brave’s “One To Watch” Trevor Belicek was traded to Baltimore, the righthander moves into the spotlight. This position hasn’t been foreign to him this season and especially last night. Weigel threw a career-high 7.2 innings whereby he had a no-hitter going until allowing a bloop single with two outs in the 7th inning.
HiA
RHP Yefrey Ramirez (Tampa – New York Yankees) 22 years old
6 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 1.99 ERA, Win 2-3
