HiA

LHP Josh Rogers (Tampa – New York Yankees) 21 years old
7 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 3.30 ERA, Win 5-3
  • The 11th round pick in 2015 threw the first game of a twin-bill. Yankees #5 prospect Domingo Acevedo hurled a gem in the second game (7 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K) in completing the sweep over Milwaukee’s Brevard County. Rogers saw a horrific May where he gave up 18 runs over 28 innings. But has things going right over the last 29.1 innings in only allowing 3 earned runs.

Top Relief Pitcher Performance

LHP Corbin Clouse (Appy League Danville – Atlanta) 21 years old
2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
  • Clouse is a big lefty (6’0″ 230 lbs) taken in the 27th round earlier this month from Davenport University (MI) where he went 5-0 with a 1.62 ERA,  striking out 75 over 50 innings in eight starts during his sophomore year. The Braves may have a diamond in the rough, as Clouse didn’t start pitching until his senior year in high school.
RADAR BLIP

RHP Adonis Medina (NY-Penn League Williamsport – Philadelphia) 19 year old
8.1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, Win 2-0
  •  The Crosscutters have a nice stock of arms within their rotation. In addition to Medina, they are lead by UTRMinors’ darling Ranger Suarez, Felix Paulino (2015 OAS), and Seranthony Dominguez who all have made their way into my daily spreads this early in the season. Medina was two outs away from a no-hitter last night against Auburn (Washington). The 19 years old has seen many swings and misses, just yet…as he only has 9 K’s over 21 innings but has yet to allow a run over that time. (3 starts)
