April 13, 2016 – Under the Radar Pitcher Performances

TOP NL UTR PITCHING PERFORMANCE

RHP Derian Gonzalez (LoA Peoria – St Louis) 21 years old
 5 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 10 K
  •  2014 OAS
  • Gonzalez tied a career-hign with 10 K’s against Quad Cities last night. The Venezuelan native signed with the Cardinals in Sept 2012. Though his initial stat lines from two seasons in the DSL were pedestrian, I tagged him after the 2014 season to my International Watch list within the Cardinals system. He has scored in the top 10 within the organization the last two season in my TPS system.

RHP Nolan Sanburn (HiA Winston-Salem – Chicago White Sox) 24 years old
2.2 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, Win 1-0
  • Sanburn had a nice career track going during his 3 seasons with the Oakland A’s. Toward the end of the 2014 season he was traded to the White Sox and would have been ranked within the top 5 of the Factor Score and TPS lists with Oakland. He also would have made the Top 5 for the White Sox, as well….the fireballer was living up to his 2nd round (2012) draft status. The wheels came off in 2015 with his new team, as he was over-matched at Double-A Birmingham posting a 6.60 ERA over 22 appearances. So, the reset button has been switched on with Sunburn back at the HiA level.
