 We’ll start with the odd stat line of the day:
 
RHP Phil Bickford (LoA Augusta – San Francisco) 20 years old
4.2 IP, 1 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 10 K, 5.79 ERA, Loss 0-1
    • Bickford was rolling up into the 5th inning. He had struck out 10 of the first 15 Rome Braves he faced until hitting a batter with two outs in the 5th inning. This started a chain-reaction where the Braves scored 5 runs. Bickford then issued a free pass and then a double to Luke Dykstra, before being pulled from the game. The GreenJackets right-hander is 1st round pick in 2015 and compiled a 5.3 K/BB ratio with the AZL Giants last season. He has a 3-pitch mix with excellent control on his fastball.
RHP Patrick Weigel (LoA Rome – Atlanta) 21 years old
6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 1.50 ERA, Win 1-0
 
RHP Logan Sendelbach (LoA West Virginia – Pittsburgh) 22 years old
5 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K
  • 10th round pick by the Pirates in 2015 picked up where he left off last season. Sendelbach went 2-3 and posted a 5.23 ERA with Bristol, but finished strong by only allowing 3 earned runs over his last 22 innings.
RHP Parker French (LoA Asheville – Colorado) 23 years old
6 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, Win 1-0
  • French (5th Rd. 2015) out-pitched the Red Sox’s top pitching prospect Anderson Espinoza
