May 31, 2014 – UTR Pitcher Performances

As Marc eluded, the Dominican Summer Leagues started yesterday which brings a whole host of box scores of new prospects to track. In its first day, I have already added 23 DSL pitchers to my daily criteria spreadsheet, of which, four is listed below. With this league beginning and six more to come this month, it will be tougher for pitchers to a make mention on the site…..I will try to keep the same numbers in order to keep the posts informative and enjoyable. In fact, once we hit mid-month when the height of all the levels are playing….I may just highlight a starter/reliever from each level.

From the DSL
SP Cristian Alvarado (DSL Orioles – Baltimore) 19 years old

Back in the States

SP Austin Pruitt (HiA Charlotte – Tampa Bay) 24 years old
6 Innings, 5 Hits, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K – SP\TPS .179

* TPS explains why we haven’t seen this 9th round pick from 2013 until now. Biggest factor is that Pruitt hasn’t kept the ball in the yard….8 HR in 53.1 IP.
