SP Brady Lail (LoA Charleston – New York Yankees) 20 years old
6 Innings, 4 Hits, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 K, Win (5-1) 3.35 ERA – .110 TPS
* Yankees have bucked the trend the last several years and have drafted heavily in high schoolers. Lail was taken in the 18th Rd in 2012 out of Bingham HS (Utah) and has posted a career .104 TPS over 3 season. This is very impressive considering that he has been pitching above the age/level spectrum. Last season the Yankees gave the righty a taste of High-A (2 appearances w/1 start). Though early, Lail could be a strong candidate for UTRMinors 2015 Breakout selection for the Yankees.
SP Andre Wheeler (LoA Kannapolis – Chicago White Sox) 22 years old
5 Innings, 5 Hits, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K – .088 Csr\TPS (Combined as SP/RP)
* Wheeler getting some looks as a starter and up to last night, it wasn’t working out for him ( 12 IP, 7 ER, 5 BB, 9 K, 0-2). His SP\TPS (.090) indicates promise as a starter though, so lets hope last night will be a blocking block to that success. According to my projections, to achieve that level of success his score should hover around .079 TPS. He does look better in the bullpen role, as he posted a .067 TPS in 2013. In 5 appearances thus far, his RP\TPS is right on par at .068
SP Joe Kurrasch (HiA San Jose – San Francisco) 23 years old
7 Innings, 5 Hits, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, Win (1-0) 1.26 ERA – .125 TPS
SP Jochi Ogando (HiA High Desert – Seattle) 20 years old
5 Innings, 2 Hits, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, Win (1-1) .099 TPS
*Ogando began the season with High Desert and was bumped to Double-A Jackson on April 20th. Call it an experiment for the 20 year old righthander, as it didnt go well (13 IP, 18 H, 8 ER, 13 BB, 14 K, 0-3 over 4 starts) and he finds himself back at Hi-A
RP Brady Feigl (LoA Rome – Atlanta) 23 years old
2.2 Innings, 0 Hits, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K – .115 TPS
